About the Speaker

Like many people in my field, I gravitated to a career in Fish and Wildlife Management because of a deep interest in outdoor activities like hunting/fishing/birdwatching. I have spent the past 25 years trying to understand the link between fish and wildlife resources and the story they tell us about the quality of habitat in which they live; protecting those resources through regulation, collaboration, and research; and working with our many publics to provide a better understanding of how our activities can change fish and wildlife resources. Much of my understanding of issues surrounding instream flows comes from participation in the Instream Flow Council but also from working with other state and NGO partners to better understand just how dynamic flowing systems can be and how important that variability can be to the organisms in those streams.
