Sheela Johnson

About the Speaker

Sheela Johnson is the Regional Hydrologist for the USDA Forest Service Eastern Region. In this capacity, she coordinates watershed restoration and management programs across fifteen National Forest and Tallgrass Prairie units. In her fourteen years with the Forest Service, Sheela has also worked as a Great Lakes watershed specialist with State and Private Forestry, forest hydrologist for the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire, and regional sustainability coordinator. Sustaining healthy watersheds in the context of a changing climate has been a key issue in all these positions. She holds master’s degrees in Environmental Science and Public Affairs from Indiana University Bloomington and a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Michigan State University.
