NE CASC Activity

As an NE CASC Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) Fellows, I am working to compile and analyze results from a survey done in Spring of 2021 that assessed the DEIJ experiences of NE CASC undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral fellows, affiliated investigators, staff members, and principle investigators. The survey was composed by Meghna Marjadi, NE CASC Graduate Fellow and PhD Candidate at UMass Amherst, and results from the survey were anonymized by a third-party reviewer from the UMass Amherst Institute for Social Science Research. Over the past semester, I have been compiling results from this survey into a detailed report that will be shared with the broader NE CASC community. The report reflects perspectives of DEIJ within NE CASC, engagement of NE CASC members in DEIJ initiatives over the past year, plans for future DEIJ engagement, and experiences through the COVID-19 pandemic. In Spring of 2022, I am planning to meet with other members of NE CASC to share this report, brainstorm future DEIJ initiatives specific to the needs of our community, and ultimately begin implementing those initiatives.
