About the Speaker

My work focuses on protecting and advocating for flows and riverine habitat, and through that aquatic organisms, through the conditioning of state permits for water withdrawals and hydropower generation, negotiating license settlements, and building and supporting state policy and guidance. I have a great interest in riverine ecology theory, particularly riverscape ecology, the interconnectedness of habitats and communities, and the discontinuity and disturbance gradients impacts in river continuums. When describing what I do to those outside the environmental field, I tell them "I'm like the Lorax, I speak for the streams."
