Overview
Formerly an NE CASC Postdoctoral Fellow, Justin is now an Assistant Professor of Geography with appointments in Earth Sciences and the Ecology and Society Departments at Dartmouth College.
Research Interests
Justin is an interdisciplinary climate scientist studying how climate change and climate variability affect people and ecosystems. He leverages observations (both paleo and instrumental) and earth system models to quantify the distribution of potential impacts from global warming. His research aims to constrain the uncertainty essential to understanding and responding to climate change’s impacts. His work focuses on two of the major sources of uncertainty in climate impacts assessments: the chaos of the climate system and the complexity of how people and ecosystems respond to climate stress. His hope is that his research can help inform the adaptation and risk management decisions people undertake in response to the uncertain threats from climate change.
