Research Interests

I am an aquatic ecologist working at the interface between ecology and evolutionary biology. My research examines the influence of environmental change on population persistence, biodiversity, community structure, and ecosystem function. I use multidisciplinary approaches including animal mark-detection, genomics, stable isotopes, fish otolith microchemistry, and field and common garden experiments to explore questions regarding anthropogenic disturbance, such as habitat fragmentation, habitat degradation, and climate change. 


I work with Dr. Linda Deegan to understand shifts in phenology of migratory species with changing climate and with Dr. Michelle Staudinger to develop predictive models for river herring seasonal migration.
