Research Interests

I am interested in paleoclimatology, paleolimnology, and glaciology with a focus on the Arctic. My research involved numerous branches of limnology ranging from physical sediment characteristics to organic lipid biomarkers. A large section of my Masters research entailed working with another Masters student, Sam Davin, to refine methodology for cheaply and quickly measuring biogenic silica concentrations in sediments using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR-S). My work with the NECSC focused on compiling existing paleoclimate records from lakes in the Northeastern United States and making this information readily available for researchers.
