Erin Crone

Erin is a PhD student in the Mims Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at Virginia Tech. She is a conservation biologist whose research centers on evaluating vulnerability of animal biodiversity to climate change. She studies the broad scale patterns that make some species more vulnerable than others and evaluates methods that can be used to assess vulnerability across taxa. Her work relies on online databases (e.g., citizen science websites) to compile spatial and traits data across species to compare their relative vulnerability. She has a particular interest in amphibian and reptile species, and her work will inform prioritization of conservation resources for these groups.
