Research Interests

I am interested in research that supports the restoration of terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems through the lens of biogeochemistry, hydrology, and forestry. Specifically, I have conducted research identifying pathways to restore post-mined sites utilizing native species in the southeastern United States. My current research focuses on how changing forest fire regimes in Alaska may impact mercury cycling, which has serious implications for human and wildlife health.
