Research Interests

I'm interested in connecting with communities to quantify sediment-related climate changes. That's a broad field that spans a range of temporal and sedimentary environments: from modern remote sensing to paleoclimatology, and mudflats to boulder beaches! I am invested in using community-level adaptation to help our ecosystem and society to transition between climate states. For my graduate work, I partner with shellfish harvesters in Maine and Massachusetts to characterize mudflat sediments and detect decadal change. I use field, lab, and remote sensing techniques to understand how modern temperature changes and sea level rise impact inter-tidal sedimentation. These processes have implications for shellfish success, carbon sequestration, and coastal resilience.

About Me

I grew up in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains, in Los Angeles County. I love playing quadball (aka quidditch), soccer, and the piano. And in my free time this semester, I want to learn 5 new moves on my poi (fire arts)!
