Research Interests

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Aquatic Entomology Lab at Virginia Tech, where I study how anthropogenic stressors alter freshwater biodiversity, ecosystem processes, and riparian-stream linkages. My current research investigates how freshwater salinization influences decomposition and biotic communities across riparian and stream ecosystems. As part of a collaborative effort, I integrate field surveys and mesocosm experiments across salinity gradients to connect biodiversity, food web, and trace element dynamics. More broadly, my work is motivated by understanding how human activities impact freshwater ecosystems and by generating knowledge that can inform conservation and management strategies to support resilient ecosystems and landscapes.
