Research Interests

I am an engineer interested in improving water management practices, in the face of climate changes, that lead to improved resilience for both humans and the natural world. My current research focuses on determining dynamic and adaptive management solutions of valuable riverine infrastructure while supporting a healthy river ecosystem. Using the Connecticut River Basin as our area of study I hope to quantify floodplain storage and the associated economic benefit both in the present and for the future that incorporates projected land use changes and projected regimes of flow due to climate change.

Thesis: Restoring Floodplains in the Connecticut River Basin: A flood Management Strategy

Abigail now works as a Civil Engineer at GZA environmental.
